IP YUK-YIU
Biography
IP Yuk-Yiu is an experimental filmmaker, media artist, art educator and independent curator. His works, ranging from experimental films, live performances, media installations to video games, have been showcased extensively at major international venues and festivals, including European Media Art Festival, New York Film Festival (views from the avant-garde), the Image Festival, FILE Festival, VideoBrasil, Transmediale, M+, NTT ICC, ZKM and WRO media art Bienniale. IP has over twenty years of curatorial experience in film, video and media art. He is the founder of the art.ware project, an independent curatorial initiative focusing on the promotion of new media art in Hong Kong. Currently he is Associate Professor at the School of Creative Media, City University of Hong Kong. His recent works explore hybrid creative forms that are informed by cinema, video games and contemporary media art practices. In recognizing his works and artistic achievements, he received the Artist of the Year (media arts) Award by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council in 2018 and the Robert Coover Award by the Electronic Literature Organization (ELO) in 2019.
葉旭耀,實驗電影導演、媒體藝術家與獨立策展人。現為香港城市大學創意媒體學院副教授,並為2018年香港藝術發展奬藝術家年獎(媒體藝術) 以及2019電子文學組織(ELO)Robert Coover Award的得主。其作品曾在歐洲媒體藝術節 (EMAF)、紐約電影節(New York Film Festival)、柏林超媒體藝術節(Transmediale)、錄像巴西(VideoBrasil)、波蘭媒體藝術雙年展(WRO)、M+、東京電信互通藝術中心 (NTT ICC)及卡爾斯魯厄藝術與媒體中心 (ZKM) 等多個重要國際藝術場地展出。自1999年起積極參與各類型電影、表演和媒體藝術展覽的策展活動,並成立獨立策展單位art.ware推廣新媒體藝術發展。近年熱衷研究具電影、電腦遊戲及當代媒體藝術元素的混合多元創作。
